Pumpkin Hollow Arts Center is delighted to announce a series of movement and dance workshops led by acclaimed New York City choreographer and performance artist Maureen Fleming. The world renowned artist was granted a Guggenheim Fellowship to create new site-specific choreography in Upstate NY, inspired by the paintings of Georgia O' Keeffe and a 'process book' bringing to light her choreography for photography.

In an ecstatic review of her extraordinary performance in , The New York Times said she ‘seemed to transcend the material world and enter the world of pure spirit’. The New York Theater Review was equally impressed, suggesting that Fleming ‘continually transcends theatrical expectations and constructs a state of perpetual presence … not unlike the effect of viewing the Grand Canyon or Niagara Falls’.

Pumpkin Hollow Arts Center, will host a series of six workshops with Maureen Fleming. The workshop begins on Thursday, May 22 - Sunday, May 25, 2025 and is open to everyone. No previous experience is required, but places are strictly limited.

In addition to her work as a dancer and choreographer, Fleming has developed new techniques of regenerative work for anyone interested in developing movement through workshops that improve strength, alignment, flexibility and balance.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

is a choreographer and performance artist renowned for her original form of visual theater. With the discipline of a classicist and the imagination of an iconoclast Fleming connects culture and art forms in an interdisciplinary celebration of femininity and the universality of the soul’s journey. A Guggenheim Fellow and Fulbright Scholar to Ireland, S.
