Having had to postpone on the actual day, here we go, my birthday event take two..So I've just turned 50 and where else would I rather be than my spiritual home of the Birds Nest, Deptford where I ran sound for nearly 7 years before moving to the sea? I would LOVE to see your wonderful face. There we'll be entertained by:
The eclectic wheels of DJ Phil Sick at 7.30pm, my favourite radio DJ. Then I'll be leading a brief quintet/sextet as Rigsby Smith & the Cosmonauts at 8.30, my first time playing live in just over ten years. I'm pretty excited. Ex-Ozric Tentacles multi-instrumentalist Jon will be heading his world music/spice rock trio 'Champignon' at 8.45, expect flute magic over heavy percussion moods. Then we're off on a trip through late 60s/70s New York all-waves with the mighty quartet Moggy Galore at 10pm. Finally the mighty DJ Lessons dances us eclectically home til 1am. Fill your belly with the bass.
It's free, there's pool, there's a bountiful beer garden, there may even be some typical Deptford magic. No bumps, I'm still recovering from a back injury. See you there, yeah? Yeah. Well alright then.
