Blues op het scherp van de snee. Matt T Mahony is al langer geen onbekende meer in de bloeiende Gentse muziekscene. Sinds de begindagen van blues- en rootsclub Missy Sippy organiseert hij elke eerste zondag van de maand de ondertussen legendarisch geworden ‘Sunday Sessions’. Na "Live at Missy Sippy" (2019) is daar de langverwachte opvolger. Het nieuwe album ‘Good man blues’, opgenomen in de Robot Studio's te Gent, staat voor een zoektocht naar geborgenheid, een zwerftocht hunkerend naar het terugvinden van een verloren thuisgevoel.

Verwacht je aan een in blues druipende gitaar, snijdende mondharmonica en lapsteel, diepe grooves bij de bas en exotische ritmes in de drums. Het is alsof El Fish samengesmolten met Dans Dans een reïncarnatie heeft gevormd! Of denk aan Marc Ribot die The Black Keys onder zijn vleugels neemt.

Atmospheres reminiscent of a mix of Ry Cooder, The Black Keys, El Fish and, for instance, Dans Dans.Not the least musicians are going to help with this. Olivier Vander Bauwede (Tamala, Missy Sippy All Stars, ...) cuts through marrow and bone with his harmonica and lapsteel, Filip Vandebril (Black Flower, Antwerp Gipsy-Ska Orkestra, Lady Linn, ...) is known for his infectious grooves on the bass and Frederik Van den Berghe (the Whodads, Lester's Blues, ...) on drums makes all the musicians sound even better.
