We want to celebrate this husband-and-wife children’s book dynamic duo! We will be celebrating the release of Matt Myers's Dino-Gro and the release of Maya Myers’s Not Little in an outside launch event at The Grinning Mule restaurant, 1109 Morningside Dr. Charlotte, NC 28205. The event will happen from 10:30 AM-12 PM on July 17th, 2021.
This is a FREE event, just come on by and enjoy the festivities around these wonderful children’s authors. There will be readings, a q & a, and signings. Books will be available for purchase there, but you may also preorder on the website. If you would like your already-purchased book brought to the event, please write “Bring to Grinning Mule event” in the online order comments.
Dino Gro synopsis:
Cole is very excited about his new Dino-Gro toy. He can’t wait for it to reach its full size! But when Dino-Gro becomes much larger than intended, Cole goes so far as to put Dino-Gro on a liquid-free diet and an exercise regimen, which don’t seem to make a difference! As Dino-Gro becomes so big that he can’t fit in the house, Cole learns that growing up and getting bigger can have advantages too, even if you’re not a dinosaur.
For fans of Tiny T. Rex and We Don’t Eat Our Classmates, this sweet and hilarious read-aloud is fun for kids to learn the importance of growing up big and strong.
Not Little synopsis:
Dot is the smallest person in her family and at school; even her name is small! People often mistake her for being younger than she is, but not when she tells them the square root of sixty-four is eight, nor when she orders from the grown-up menu at restaurants or checks out the hard books at the library. She may be small, but she’s not little.
When a new boy named Sam joins Dot’s class, she wonders if he’s even smaller than she is. But when she sees him getting bullied by a mean kid twice his size, she knows she has to do the big thing and stand up for him.

Matt Myers the author/illustrator of Hum and Swish and Dino-Gro, and the illustrator of the New York Times best-selling Battle Bunny, as well as dozens of other children’s books, including the Infamous Ratsos series. Maya Myers writes books for kids and edits books for kids and adults. Maya is a former kindergarten teacher who loves cooking, gardening, and (surprise!) reading. Originally from Maine, she now lives in Charlotte, North Carolina, with her husband, author-illustrator Matt Myers, three daughters, seven chickens, and a twenty-three-pound cat.
