This new concert celebrates the links between Irish & Quebecois folk music featuring a quartet of award-winning musicians. It features two expert Irish musicians (Manus McGuire of Brock McGuire Band and Moving Cloud, and Kate Bevan-Baker of The Dardanelles, The Dardanelles and Gairloch) and two master Quebecois musicians (André Marchand and Michel Bordeleau, both key members of La Bottine Souriante and Les Charbonniers de l’enfer).
A lot of instrumental music played in Quebec can be directly traced back to Ireland. This connection heard through traditional music in Quebec with its roots in Ireland will be the focus of this concert; where four professional musicians from different musical backgrounds will share the stage for the first time, presenting both common repertoire and distinct musical examples from their respective musical cultures and traditions.
