Local Americana Soul artist Matt Grigsby will be back at the Yellow Dog Art Bar to perform a set of his original songs on Saturday, January 4th from 9-11 PM! Come purchase a canvas or figurine and make your own art while listening to live, local music. Full bar menu of both cocktails and mocktails available!
“Matt Grigsby is a maverick Folk, Soul, and Americana artist, songwriter and multi instrumentalist whose sound has been described 'as if Townes Van Zandt sang like Otis Redding, soul searing lyricism delivered with a passion you can't help but believe.' Grigsby's songs can transport you way back to small town Kentucky where he was born, or to the piney woods of East Texas where he was raised, and then take you to a party in the good ol' DFW, where he currently resides and has quickly become a songwriting staple and regular nominee of local awards. Matt is co-founder and president of the Denton Songwriters Guild, a non-profit devoted to keeping songwriters songwriting. In 2019 Grigsby won the Texas State Songwriter's Championship, which took place in Austin during SXSW. He is an alumni of the Kerrville Folk Festival, Denton Folk Festival, the Pilot Point Songwriters Festival and the 2019 Dripping Springs Songwriters Festival.
