More than twenty years after the release of Drinking Songs, Matt Elliott returns to the most defining work of his career. Originally released in 2004, the album marked a decisive shift from his electronic roots towards a deeply personal form of chamber folk, combining fragile songwriting with Eastern European cabaret influences and a stark, introspective atmosphere.
In this special solo performance, Elliott revisits songs from Drinking Songs in their most direct and intimate form. Alongside this seminal material, he will also perform selected songs from other albums, as well as previously unreleased pieces, offering a broader insight into his evolving body of work. Stripped of additional instrumentation, the music is presented with raw emotional clarity, allowing the weight of the lyrics, voice and melodies to fully unfold.
Performed in the unique acoustic setting of Berlin’s Genezarethkirche, this concert is not a nostalgic retrospective, but a living re-encounter with Elliott’s music — haunting, fragile and profoundly human, more than two decades on.

Tavare formed in Berlin in 2020, crafting stripped-down minimal songs defined by slow tempos, fragile harmonies and a blend of ’90s slowcore and contemporary pop structures. The trio released their debut 7” Ghosts in 2024 on UK label Champion Version, followed by the full-length album Too Small To Be So High in 2025 via God Unknown Records, Cruel Nature and Katuktu Collective. Based in Berlin, Tavare perform regularly across Europe and have appeared at festivals including Sonic Rites (Helsinki) and Fusion Festival (Germany). Featuring Aidan Baker (Nadja), Tristen Bakker and Angela Muñoz, the band delivers emotionally raw, delicately powerful songs that favour atmosphere and feeling over convention.
