SABIFF 2026 Matinee Program: #HistoryUpRising — A special daytime program featuring student film screenings, inspiring guest speakers, engaging discussions, and creative connections exploring the intersections of film, history, travel, AI, technology, and global Black stories.

Event Overview

The SABIFF 2026 Matinee Program is an intergenerational learning and cultural experience designed to connect students, educators, filmmakers, creative artists, senior citizens, and film enthusiasts through the power of storytelling.

The program will feature student film screenings alongside presentations from distinguished guest speakers Leroy Adams, CEO of Culture Travel Magazine, and Wole Fagbohun, Founder and CEO of PlotWeaver.AI. Leroy Adams will explore how travel, film, and history create connections to cultures and untold stories, while Wole Fagbohun will present “Digital Ancestry: Leveraging AI to Protect, Celebrate and Project Black History Globally.”

The event takes place on Friday, October 3, 2026, from 10:00 AM–12:30 PM at The Carver Community Cultural Center, 226 N. Hackberry St., San Antonio, TX 78202. All Access and Day Class holders are welcome, while schools are required to RSVP in advance.
