Mathateca is collaborating with Christchurch City Libraries to deliver a series of fun and engaging logic puzzle workshops hosted at Tūranga on the second Sunday of every month.
Come and meet James McGowan, New Zealand's top puzzle solver. James placed 5th in the world at the 2024 World Puzzle Championships in Beijing - an incredible achievement after years of competitive puzzle solving. Now he’s sharing his expertise with you!
Perfect for beginners but with plenty to challenge experienced solvers, each session includes:
✔ A short lesson on the rules and key solving strategies
✔ Time to solve provided puzzles of varying difficulty
✔ Hints and tips from world-class puzzle solvers if you get stuck
Boost your logical thinking in a relaxed, social atmosphere. Whether you're new to logic puzzles or looking to sharpen your skills, come along to train your brain and have a good time! All welcome.

The puzzle workshops are held on the second Sunday of every month, from 3:00pm - 4:30pm, in the Facilitation Space on Auahatanga, Level 4 of Tūranga, Christchurch's central library.
