Hike Mt. Wachusett with our MathAltitude family on Monday, October 13th. It is a day off for most school children, and a great time of year to see some beautiful foliage views. We will stop at Rota Spring Farm (http://www.rotaspringfarm.com/ for ice cream afterward. Families, siblings, and friends are welcome. Hope you can join us. We always have a great time!
RSVP: If you did not have a chance to RSVP yet, but want to join us, please call 860-375-3276. We will be glad if you join us. Also, if your plans have changed and you will not be hiking with us, please let us know, so we are not waiting for you at the Visitor’s Center.
𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁: We will meet at 10:00 A.M. at the Visitor Center (345 Mountain Rd, Princeton, MA 01541), climb up the Pine Hill Trail, spend a little time on the summit taking pictures, come down Old Indian Trail until it meets Summit Road, then continue back to the Visitor Center.
𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗹:
The Pine Hill Trail is a relatively quick hike from the Visitor Center. It is nicely marked. It is rocky and steep at several points. When we are hiking there, we see very young kids hiking there along with their parents. The Old Indian Trail is not as wide as Pine Hill, but is also not difficult to navigate with children. Please keep in mind that because of the rain both trails can be slippery. We can use Summit Road in this case.

𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴:
The parking lot at the visitor center is limited to 28 spaces, available on a first come first serve basis. Please be prepared to be redirected to access parking along the summit road. Please add extra time to get to the meeting place if you park there. There is a $5.00 fee for parking.
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴/𝗪𝗲𝗮𝗿:
• Sneakers or hiking boots;
• Bottled water;
• Sunscreen;
• Cameras;
• A snack or a fruit or a sandwich for children to eat at the summit if they get hungry.
𝗥𝗼𝘁𝗮 𝗦𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗺:(http://www.rotaspringfarm.com/) is located at 117 Chace Hill Road, Sterling, MA 01564, which is about 20 min (13 mi) from the mountain.
