Explore natural fibres, textiles and found materials in this workshop. Create your own sculptural piece while discovering sustainable making
About this Event

This hands-on workshop invites participants to explore natural fibres, textiles and found materials through an intuitive making process. Rather than following a fixed design, we will experiment with texture, structure and form, allowing the material itself to guide the creative outcome.

Participants will create their own sculptural samples while learning about sustainable making, craftsmanship and material exploration. The workshop is suitable for adults of all creative backgrounds, with no previous experience required.

About the artist

Maria Cuji is an Ecuadorian-born, London-based designer, artist and Visiting Practitioner at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London. Her practice explores the intersection of craftsmanship, sustainability and wearable art through natural fibres, textiles and experimental biomaterials. Working intuitively with materials, she creates sculptural pieces that blur the boundaries between fashion, art and material research while celebrating the dialogue between traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design.

Donations

This is a donation-based workshop, with all proceeds supporting Saira Hospitality, a non-profit organisation transforming the way hotels connect with local communities through education, training, and employment opportunities in hospitality.
