Come join us at Sir Peter Blake MERC for a full weekend of activities and learning celebrating Matariki in partnership with Te Pā.The celebration will kick off Friday the 28th at 4:00pm with a mihi whakatou and run through to Sunday the 30th at 11:00am.
Learn waiata, karakia and a haka to help celebrate and honour Matariki. We'll be having a Hautapu ceremony, and providing activities that relate to the stars of Matariki in a welcoming, fun and whanau-centred environment.
Friday's dinner is a potluck and everyone participating is encouraged to bring a sharable dish to signify coming together. The rest of the weekend will be fully catered. Accommodation will be bunks with a mattress onsite at MERC. Please bring pillows, sleeping bags or sheets/blankets.
