The Alabama Symphony Orchestra invites you to an evening of bold energy and stirring emotion in Of Passion and Promise. This dynamic Masterworks concert celebrates the power of music to inspire and uplift.Under the baton of Carlos Izcaray, the program opens with Bernstein’s sparkling Overture to Candide. It features the return of pianist Asiya Korepanova for Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1 — a beloved masterpiece known for its thunderous chords and sweeping lyricism. The evening culminates with Copland’s Symphony No. 3, a radiant and triumphant work that captures the spirit of American optimism and resilience.
