50 musical whistlers from 9 countries will gather to meet and compete with popular and classical songs to vie for the title of World Champion Whistler. The 5th biennial Masters of Musical Whistling International Festival and Competition October 3-5 in Hollywood, CA at Barnsdall Gallery Theater.

Get your mind blown with five competitive divisions, including live band accompaniment, self-accompaniment, and other unique performances throughout the weekend. If you are looking to experience a unique and amazing musical journey, look no further.

Adding to the excitement, the world premiere of WHISTLE — filmed at our 2023 Festival and produced by an Oscar-nominated Australian team debuts at the Toronto International Film Festival September 2025.

"Whistling is an ancient communicative device with an artistic potential that is being recognized around the world," says event producer Carole Anne Kaufman, a two-time whistling world champion known globally as the Whistling Diva.

The event is brought to you by Creative Being, a nonprofit inspiring community, creativity, and artistic self-expression.

1. Parking: Arrive early. Barnsdall Park has limited parking at the top of the hill where the theater is located. There is auxiliary parking on the left just as you enter the gate on Hollywood Boulevard. You will have to walk up the hill from there. Barnsdall encourages rideshare and/or bike/walking to the park.

3. I’m a whistler but I’m not competing. Are there any events for me to participate in? Yes! We have a Whistlers Karaoke Party and the Whistling Master Class on Friday
4. How often does this event happen: The Masters of Musical Whistling International Festival and Competition is a biennial event. Every two years we meet and compete in Los Angeles. Join us next in 2027.
