About this Event

The Hanafi school never left its students to find their own way through its vast literature. Over centuries it developed a graded curriculum of relied-upon texts, carrying the student from foundational primers to the great works of later scholarship, such as Ibn Abidin's Radd al-Muhtar.

This program brings together Dr Talal Al-Azem, a scholar and researcher specialising in the history of fiqh andlegal education, and Sheikh Faraz Rabbani, a Hanafi jurist and founder of SeekersGuidance, to guide both our local and online community through this curriculum across three connected sessions.

Attendees will come away knowing not only which books to read, but why they were written, in what order they are studied, and how to study them with real benefit — through sound preparation, presence of heart, and consistent review. For anyone who has picked up a fiqh text and felt unsure where to begin, or wondered how a lifetime of study is meant to unfold, this program offers a map: from the first primer to the frontier of specialisation, and from correct information to godfearing practice.

Who Can Benefit from Attending this Program
  1. Age group: Primarily adult learners, from those newly committed to seeking knowledge through to more advanced students; accessible to motivated youth as well.
  2. Audience: Students of knowledge, community teachers, and anyone responsible for guiding others' study of fiqh — such as study-circle leaders or parents overseeing a child's Islamic education.
  3. Interests: Anyone curious about how the Hanafi school organises its own literature, how fiqh should properly be studied, or what a structured path toward scholarly competence actually looks like.
