Ricardo Herz ist mit seiner Geige ein weltweites Phänomen und wird an seinem individuellen Stil schnell wiedererkannt. Mit seinem Instrument imitiert er das Schnauben des Akkordeons, das Schnarren der Fiedel und die wunderschönen Melodien des traditionellen und modernen Choro. Seine Mischung aus brasilianischen und afrikanischen Rhythmen mit Jazzimprovisation und zeitgenössischer Komposition hat zu internationaler Anerkennung geführt.
Herz hat einen Abschluss in Klassischer Violine von der Universität São Paulo. Seitdem studierte er am renommierten Berklee College of Music (USA) und am Centre des Musiques Didier Lockwood, der Schule des legendären französischen Jazzgeigers.
Seit seiner Rückkehr nach Brasilien im Jahr 2010 hat er mit vielen der bedeutendsten Musiker Brasiliens musikalisch zusammengearbeitet. Er hat eine Reihe von Alben aufgenommen und ist außerdem ein engagierter Lehrer und Förderer der brasilianischen Violine.
Vanille Goovaerts ist eine französische Violonistin. Nach ihrem Studium der Jazz-Violine am CRR in Chambéry hat man sie auf vielen Jazz Festivals hören können.
Heute lebt Vanille Goovaerts in São Paulo und studierte Violine unter anderem bei Ricardo Herz. In ihm hat sie einen Partner gefunden, der ihre musikalische Sensibilität teilt.

Sie werden vom 26. bis 29. Juni 2025 wieder in Leisnig sein. Während des Festivals werden sie einen 8-stündigen Workshop persönlich unterrichten. Wenn Du Geige, Bratsche oder Cello spielst, entführen Dich Ricardo und Vanille in die Welt der brasilianischen Musik. Sie bringen Dir das Konzept von Swing, Improvisation und Akkorden bei, um in die Welt von Choro, Forró, Jazz und anderen beliebten brasilianischen Rhythmen einzutauchen.

Brazilian violin workshop with Ricardo Herz & Vanille Goovaerts
Ricardo Herz is a global violin revolution with an instantly recognizable style. His technique brings to the instrument the snort of the accordion, the roar of the fiddle and the beautiful melodies of traditional and modern choro. His mix of Brazilian and African rhythms with jazz improvisation and contemporary composition has led to international acclaim.
Herz is a graduate in classical violin from the University of São Paulo. Since then, he has studied at the renowned Berklee College of Music (USA) and at the Centre des Musiques Didier Lockwood, school of the legendary French jazz violinist.
Since returning to Brazil in 2010, he has performed in musical collaborations with many of the most important musicians in Brazil. He has recorded a number of albums and is also a dedicated teacher and promoter of Brazilian violin.
Vanille Goovaerts is a French violonist. After her studies of Jazz Violin at the CRR in Chambéry she could be heart at many Jazz Festivals.
Today Vanille lives in São Paulo and studied the violin with Ricardo Herz. In him, she found a partner who shares her musical sensivity.

And YOU have the possibility to participate in their classes again during the second Forró Experience! They are going to be in Leisnig from 26th to 29th June. During the festival they will teach a 8 hours master class. If you play the violin, viola or chello, Ricardo and Vanille will emerge you into the world of Brazilian music. They will teach you the concept of swing, improvisation and chords to dive into the world of Choro, Forró, Jazz and other popular Brazilian rhythms.
