SFDW is honored to present renowned choreographer, Bryan Arias whose Seson 6 World Premiere, "The Broken Glass" will be expanded for ODC Theater's State of Play Festival. Gain insight into this esteemed, thoughtful artist's process and work firsthand.
Bryan Arias is an acclaimed and visionary choreographer known for his evocative and emotionally charged works. Born in Puerto Rico and raised in New York City, Arias discovered his love for dance at a young age, drawn to the expressive and transformative nature of movement.
Arias' choreographic journey has been characterized by a profound exploration of human emotion and the human condition. His works delve into themes of personal identity, vulnerability, resilience, and the intricate dynamics of human relationships. Arias has been commissioned to create original works for prestigious dance companies around the world, including The Netherlands Dance Theater, Zurich Ballet, Bolshoi Ballet, Paul Taylor Company, and more. Beyond his choreography, Arias is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of dancers and choreographers. His commitment to education and mentorship reflects a desire to contribute to the continual evolution of the dance art form.
This workshop will include a warm-up and end with a Q and A with Bryan.
