Massage essentials is a fun, interactive, hands-on experience for couples, singles, friends and even lovers to come and learn the foundations for a basic massage!If you’ve ever wanted to learn massage, or wanted to be better at helping your friends, family or loved ones when they are in pain or need help to relax, but don’t have the time nor energy to enroll in a professional massage program then this workshop is for YOU!
We know the average person doesn’t have the time nor energy to invest in a 1000+ hour professional massage therapist program; so we’ve broke it down in a easy to learn, step-by-step workshop series to help you improve the quality of your touch with simple experiential classes that you can attend at your leisure.
In this workshop you will learn:
**Some anatomy basics to help guide your sense of touch!
**Body Mechanics so you can massage for hours without hurting yourself!
**Breathwork so you don’t wear yourself out!
**Techniques you can use on your friends and family immediately!
**Multiple Modalities for you to add to your massage toolkit!
**Techniques you can do anywhere! (no table or special equipment needed).
As professional massage therapists we get asked by nearly everyone the same exact questions… How do you work without hurting your hands? How do you massage this or that part of the body? How do you apply more pressure without exhausting yourself?
In this informative hands-on workshop we will cover all of the above and more!
The workshop will start with some basics of anatomy and body mechanics and then we will give a brief demo of the day's lessons. Then students will practice with each other while being supervised by a professional to help you deepen your understanding of energy, breathwork, anatomy and kinetics so that you can deliver a nourishing, healing touch to your friends, family and partners with utmost confidence!

Note: This workshop is designed to be academic/experiential and as such students will work with multiple people of different body types, sizes and genders and should come prepared to work with anyone without judgment, expectations or preconceived notions about working with a variety of people. In the end, we are all just humans looking to have our needs met.

A proud alumna of the renowned Bellus Academy of Holistic Health, Vanessa discovered her profound passion for fostering wellness and joy, beginning with the simple, yet powerful act of sharing a genuine smile.
Embarking on her transformative journey in 2009, Vanessa diligently pursued her studies to become a Holistic Health Practitioner, cultivating a deep and diverse skill set that enables her to tailor her healing touch to the unique needs of each client. She specializes in an impressive array of modalities, including the revitalizing techniques of Deep Tissue and Hot Stones Massage, the balancing art of Reflexology, as well as the nurturing practices of Prenatal, Oncology, and, closest to her heart, Geriatric Massage.

~ Shiva J is a Tantra Teacher, Kundalini Yoga Instructor, Somatic Bodyworker, Certified Life Coach, Licensed Clinical Hypnotherapist, and Master NLP Practitioner who has been in the world of transformational work since 2003.
With a 20+ year career in the fitness world under his belt he suddenly found himself with a severe back injury that prevented him from continuing on that path. Around the same time he found himself facing divorce, bankruptcy and homelessness. Determined to rise from these pitfalls he began to study holistic wellness, and Tantra to help heal his body, mind and spirit. Having prevailed over a rather bleak and almost hopeless dark night of the soul he experienced a spiritual awakening and discovered his true calling as a healer, and community builder.
With his unique perspective of the mind, body, spirit connection he has helped thousands of clients transform their lives. He combines all of these unique tools along with his gift of insight to help his clients overcome any physical or mental challenge they may be currently experiencing in their lives.
When not at work doing what he loves, Shiva J can be found at a local internet cafe sipping a dirty chai latte, attending ecstatic dancing, a drum circle, or out hiking or biking local trails and if you can't find him at all, he has probably taken a sabbatical and gone hiking or camping someplace more exotic!
