Celebrating 40 Years;
Kirkwood Hospice opened its doors in March 1987 to care for local people living with life-limiting illnesses and provide support for their families and friends, free of charge.
The mission remains the same today, as it did at the very beginning; to provide the very best care for anyone affected by any life limiting illness, every step of the way.
If you would like to help and support The Kirkwood we are holding a very special and spectacular 40th Anniversary Masquerade Ball on the 5th & 6th March 2027 @ The Venue in Barkisland , exactly 40 years to the day since The Kirkwood opened its doors to the people of Huddersfield & Kirklees.
Our 'Ultimate Ball' in October 2025 raised over fifty thousand pounds for special projects at The Kirkwood.
