ABOUT THE PERFORMERS
Born and raised in Chicago, KT (she/they) has established herself as a multidisciplinary artist, professional singer, songwriter, and performer. With a career spanning 19 years, her love for music and performance is rooted in community. She has made a mark on the music scene by collaborating with local artists and working to share her love of art with others through a variety of disciplines. Her newest project is called Scenic Route, a 4-piece jazz/pop band whose debut single will be released by the end of the year.
Karma Fête is a collaborative project between singer Kat Karasi and keyboardist/producer Blue Dreams founded in August 2022. Melting synths and bright ethereal vocals tie together with the roots of hip hop, disco grooves, and experimental neo-Soul. Accompanied by Marcos Rios (Guitar), Dolan Heard (Drums) and Eric Novak (Bass, Synth), Karma Fête explores the connection between self-love and vulnerability. The Chicago Tribune described Karma Fête’s debut EP as “a confident debut, brimming with lush instrumentation, rich vocal harmonies and styling, and multilayered production that teases and surprises listeners through the length of each track” Glide Magazine premiered their latest single “Hi-Def Sutra,” calling it “a slick and soulful work of slow burning electro-funk brimming with sultry vocals and harmonies alongside a sound that melts trip-hop, R&B and dance music.”
The Beautiful Materials is a new local trio emerging with a seductive alternative to lo-fi hip hop. Born from the ashes of alt rock / trip hop band “Etherwolf”. Alaina Wolfe (bass) and Nicholas Gardner (keys) provide a new dreamy landscape with bouncy disco bass lines and pop inspired melodies. Matching the unique and wildly dynamic RnB to Disco Rock sound is Courtney Mankowski (drums). The trio is currently working on a record titled ‘Romantic Theory’ and is hoping to make a splash with new perspectives on themes of self-love, relationships, intimacy, and experimenting with the titillating sound of neo-soul, disco rock, and lo-fi hip hop.
