Mason Home Concert | Los Angeles, CA
“Mason Home Concerts” will present the second chamber music concert of its 2026 season, featuring world-class musicians in a salon-style setting on Los Angeles’ Westside. On Saturday, February 21, 2026, audiences are invited to experience “Chalifour & Friends,” an all-star ensemble led by Los Angeles Philharmonic Concertmaster Martin Chalifour, performing Brahms’s towering “Piano Quintet in F minor, Op. 34.”
The evening will include a preconcert talk by LA Philharmonic’s Dr. Kristi Brown-Montesano, fostering direct engagement between artists and audiences. Tickets are available at a suggested $40 minimum donation per concert (or $175 for a season pass), and include hors d’oeuvres and the signature buffet dinner at 5:30pm, prior to the 6:00pm concert. February’s concert brings together an ensemble with experience across orchestral, chamber, and solo performance, led by Chalifour, whose international solo career includes collaborations with conductors such as Gustavo Dudamel and Esa-Pekka Salonen. He is joined by violinist Ambroise Aubrun, an award-winning soloist and recording artist, and a frequent guest concertmaster with orchestras worldwide. Violist Jonah Sirota brings a background in chamber music, composition, and media scoring, including 18 years with the Chiara String Quartet. Cellist Cécilia Tsan contributes her work as an international soloist, principal cellist of the Long Beach Symphony and Los Angeles Master Chorale, as well as Artistic Director of Mount Wilson Observatory’s Sunday Afternoon Concerts in the Dome series. Pianist David Kaplan completes the ensemble, whose work centers on solo and chamber performance, contemporary and commissioned repertoire, and collaborations with leading ensembles, festivals, and Carnegie Hall’s affiliate ensemble Decoda.
Continuing a storied Los Angeles tradition of private residence concerts, Mason Home Concerts was founded in 2013 by Mason and his late wife, Robin. In preparation for launching the series, the couple undertook extensive renovations to their Mar Vista home, transforming it into a dedicated, custom-built chamber music environment with an intimate 50-person capacity.
