Community members are invited to celebrate this exciting new addition to the town’s parks and recreation facilities during the upcoming ribbon-cutting ceremony and inaugural tournament on Saturday, Aug. 24.The event will kick off with an opening ceremony at 11 a.m. Before the ribbon is cut, remarks from Town Manager Borg, members of the Town Council and more will be delivered. Town Manager Borg will then compete in a ceremonial game to kick off the inaugural tournament.
Once the ceremonial game is complete, community members will be invited to participate in a single-elimination round-robin pickleball tournament. The free tournament is open to all ages and skill levels. The Parks and Recreation Department will provide paddles and balls, but community members can use their own if they’d like. Prizes will be awarded to tournament winners.
While the pickleball tournament is ongoing, community members can also enjoy music from a DJ and light refreshments. We look forward to seeing you there!
