Στο ανοιχτό αυτό εργαστήριο του Manifesto Poetico, προσκαλούμε καλλιτέχνες που συμμετέχουν να εξερευνήσουν τις δραματικές και ποιητικές διαστάσεις της Σύγχρονης Commedia dell’Arte και τη μεταμορφωτική δύναμη της μάσκας.
Το MaskPoetica: Contemporary Commedia dell’Arte είναι μια διαρκώς εξελισσόμενη προσέγγιση, καθοδηγούμενη από αρχές όπως: μάζα/δύναμη/αντιστάθμιση και χρόνος/ρυθμός/κίνηση. Με πλήρη συμμετοχή του νου, του σώματος και του παιχνιδιού, επιδιώκουμε την αφύπνιση μιας πανανθρώπινης εμπειρίας, όπου μπορεί να γεννηθεί χώρος για ουσιαστικές ιστορίες.

Αυτό το Ανοιχτό Εργαστήριο απευθύνεται σε ηθοποιούς, χορευτές, performers και όλους τους ανθρώπους του θεάτρου ή μελετητές που ενδιαφέρονται να εξερευνήσουν τη σωματική και παραστασιακή διάσταση της τέχνης της μάσκας.
Οι συμμετέχοντες θα εμβαθύνουν στη θεατρική διάσταση της μάσκας στο σύγχρονο θέατρο μέσα από μια μη συμβατική προσέγγιση.

Παράσταση του Carlos García Estévez:
Στο πλαίσιο του Εργαστηρίου, ο Carlos García Estévez θα παρουσιάσει την παγκοσμίως αναγνωρισμένη σόλο παράσταση μάσκας του, Solo dell’Arte, το Σάββατο 13 Σεπτεμβρίου στις 8:30μμ στη Σκηνή Beckett. Η παράσταση είναι ανοιχτή για τους συμμετέχοντες.

Βιογραφικό
Ο Carlos García Estévez (Ισπανία) είναι ο ιδρυτής και καλλιτεχνικός διευθυντής του International Laboratory for Theatre Research, Manifesto Poetico. Είναι ηθοποιός, παιδαγωγός, σκηνοθέτης και ερευνητής με επαγγελματική πορεία άνω των 25 ετών, η οποία τον έχει ταξιδέψει στην Ευρώπη, την Αμερική και την Ασία.
Κατά τη διάρκεια των ετών, έχει αναπτύξει μια ιδιαίτερη θεατρική γλώσσα που ενσωματώνει την εικαστική, σωματική και χωρική έκφραση. Αποτελεί διεθνές σημείο αναφοράς στη Σύγχρονη Commedia dell’Arte, το Theatre of Gesture, τη χωρική σύνθεση (spatial composition) και τη δημιουργία νέων θεατρικών γλωσσών.
Το έργο του κινείται στα όρια μεταξύ του ορατού και του αόρατου, του λογικού και του διαισθητικού, του ατομικού και του συλλογικού. Ανάμεσα στα εργαστήρια έρευνας και διδασκαλίας που έχει αναπτύξει περιλαμβάνονται:

- Architecture of Gestures,
- Bouffon: At the Threshold of Consciousness,
- Contemporary Tragedy: In Search of Balance – In Search of Unity,

Για σχεδόν δύο δεκαετίες, περιοδεύει διεθνώς με την προσωπική του παράσταση μάσκας Solo dell’Arte. Έχει εμφανιστεί με τον Simon McBurney – Complicite στα έργα A Dog’s Heart και The Magic Flute και με τον Peter Sellars στο Girls of the Golden West. Συμμετέχει ως διευθυντής κίνησης σε παραγωγές όπερας στην Ολλανδική Εθνική Ακαδημία Όπερας (DNO) και στο Hollands Diep Muziektheater.
Μέσα από μια καλλιτεχνική-ανθρωπολογική προσέγγιση, εξερευνά το συμβολικό, το ονειρικό και το ασυνείδητο, δημιουργώντας έργα —γνωστά ως TransPoetico Productions— που λειτουργούν πέρα από το κυριολεκτικό ή το συμβατικό. Οι δημιουργίες του δεν αντικατοπτρίζουν μόνο το παρόν, αλλά ανοίγουν δρόμους για νέους τρόπους σκέψης, βίωσης, ανταπόκρισης και σύνδεσης, διατηρώντας διαρκή διάλογο με τις καλλιτεχνικές κοινότητες όπου προσκαλείται. Συνδημιουργεί σκηνικές γλώσσες με και για την καλλιτεχνική κοινότητα και το κοινό της.
Έχει μαθητεύσει κοντά στον Jacques Lecoq στο σχολείο του στο Παρίσι και για περισσότερα από δέκα χρόνια υπήρξε associate artist στο Εργαστήριο Μελέτης της Κίνησης (LEM) της σχολής Lecoq, όπου συνέβαλε στη μοναδική έρευνα που πραγματοποιείται εκεί – κυρίως μέσω της χωρικής του μελέτης The Elastics: An Ecosystem of Structures.
Η δημιουργική του διαδικασία εδράζεται σε μια ενδοσκοπική έρευνα με κριτική, ευαίσθητη και ανθρώπινη προσέγγιση. Το έργο του στοχεύει να συγκινήσει, να προκαλέσει και να προσκαλέσει σε στοχασμό – ενθαρρύνοντας το κοινό και τους συνεργάτες του να δουν από νέες οπτικές και να συνδεθούν με εκείνα που συχνά διαφεύγουν της συνειδητής κατανόησης.

MASKPOETICA: Contemporary Commedia dell’Arte

In this Manifesto Poetico Open Laboratory, we invite participating artists to explore the dramatic and poetic dimensions of Contemporary Commedia dell’Arte and the transformative power of the mask.
MaskPoetica: Contemporary Commedia dell’Arte is a continuously evolving concept, guided by principles such as mass/force/compensation and time/rhythm/movement. With full engagement of mind, body and spirit of play, we seek to awaken a universal human experience, where space for meaningful stories can arise.
SOME OF THE TOPICS THAT WE’LL EXPLORE ARE:
- Sensorial Journey. Emotion & Counter-emotion
- Interaction & direct contact with the audience
- The Triad of Passage: form, transform, perform
- Directional Symbology. Movement & Counter-movement
- Mask and its abstraction. Inner Structure.
- Improvisation
- Movement Technique
- Musicality. Timing. Space
This Open Laboratory is an opportunity for actors, dancers, performers, and all other theatre practitioners or scholars interested in exploring the physical and performative aspects of Mask Performance. Participants will engage in an in-depth study of the mask dimension in contemporary theatre through unconventional perspectives.

Artist’s Bio:
Carlos García Estévez (Spain) is the founder and artistic director of the International Laboratory for Theatre Research, Manifesto Poetico. He is an actor, pedagogue, stage director, and researcher with a professional trajectory of more than 25 years, which has taken him across Europe, the Americas, and Asia.
Over the years, he has developed a distinctive theatrical language that integrates visual, physical, and spatial expression. He is an international reference in Contemporary Commedia dell’Arte, Theatre of Gesture, spatial composition, and the creation of new theatrical languages.
His work moves along the boundaries between the visible and the invisible, the rational and the intuitive, the individual and the collective. Among his research and pedagogical laboratories are:

For nearly two decades, he has toured internationally with his solo mask performance Solo dell’Arte. Carlos performed with Simon McBurney – Complicite in A Dog’s Heart and The Magic Flute and with Peter Sellars in Girls of the Golden West. He participates as a movement director for opera at DNO (Dutch National Opera Academy) and Hollands Diep Muziektheater.
Through an artistic-anthropological approach, he explores the symbolic, the oneiric, and the unconscious, creating works—productions known as TransPoetico Productions—that operate beyond the literal or conventional. His creations not only reflect the present but also open pathways to new ways of thinking, experiencing, responding and relating, while engaging in a constant dialogue with the artistic communities he encounters wherever he is invited. He co-creates scenic languages with and for the artistic community and its audiences.
He trained with Jacques Lecoq at his school in Paris and was, for over a decade, an associate artist at the Laboratory for the Study of Movement (LEM) at the Jacques Lecoq School, where he contributed to the unique research conducted there—primarily through his spatial research The Elastics: An Ecosystem of Structures.
His creative process is rooted in an introspective research with a critical, sensitive and human approach. His work aims to move, challenge, and invite reflection—encouraging both audiences and collaborators to see from new perspectives and engage with what often escapes conscious understanding.
