The free concert, scheduled at 6:30 p.m., May 4, will feature an eclectic mix of popular music from around the world, from the Beatles to the Balkans to James Bond. The concert will be a celebration of the accordion in advance of World Accordion Day on May 6.But since it also happens to be May the 4th - Star Wars Day - there will also be a special accordion performance of a suite of music from “Star Wars.”
Dee Langley is a longtime professional accordion player from Minneapolis who has performed with the Minnesota Orchestra, the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, at the Guthrie Theater and with Theater Latte Da. She is a recipient of the McKnight Fellowship for Performing Musicians and an inductee of the American Accordion Hall of Fame. She’s the founder and coordinator of the NE Accordion Festival and director of the Ethnic Dance Theater Orchestra.
