Mashed Poetics has been rocking out on the Unceded Traditional Territories of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh Nations for over 16 years. They have been passing down their stories and oral histories for over 10,000 years and we humbly work to carry on the tradition of spoken word.
For this show our poets will be harnessing their Rebel Yells and blast them from the stage at Lana Lou's. Along with the kick ass Billy Idol cover band The Crank Callers.
Advance tickets are $15-$30 sliding scale and you can get them by sending an e-transfer to [email protected] Tickets will be $20 at the door.
Doors are at 8pm. Show starts at 8:30.
We will be having a Rebel Yell contest where you get a chance to share with the crowd your best Rebel Yell...it can be call and response ie "Trans Rights--Are Human Rights!" or a gutteral belly howl. Let's see what you can come up with. DM me if you're interested.
Here's the list of our poets and songs in order of performance. And yes we know that Dancing With Myself is not on the Rebel Yell album. We just wanted to include it since it's a kick ass tune.
