The Maryland Department of Juvenile Services (DJS) will host an in-person hiring event in partnership with the Maryland Department of Labor (DOL). This hiring event is focused on job opportunities for the below-listed specific juvenile facilities ONLY in the Western region of Maryland:
- DJS VCC (Victor Cullen Center) in Frederick County.
- DJS WMCC (Western Maryland Children's Center) in Washington County.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must be a U.S. Citizen or Resident Alien of at least 21 years of age, high school diploma or GED. **NO EXPERIENCE or DEGREE REQUIRED**. Submit to comprehensive background check, substance abuse test, physical and psychological exams.

- Pay: $25 per hour, annual salary range of $52,558.00 - $71,108.00/year, plus overtime.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
At DJS, you can make a difference in your community while also enjoying the many benefits of employment with the State of Maryland. This position duties are similar to the correctional duties. Responsible for the safety and security of youth in our local facilities.
DJS is looking for therapeutic leaders, coaches and mentors for our youth! The DJS Resident Advisor Trainee position is the entry level of work responsible for providing supervision and guidance to the youth residing in a facility that is operated by the Maryland Department of Juvenile Services.
The DJS Resident Advisor Trainee ensures supervision and guidance of the youth by observing, interacting and assisting them with everyday life skills and advising them of appropriate alternative behaviors. This position may be required to work evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
