Mary MacNamara and Sorcha Costello are a mother-and-daughter duo on concertina and fiddle from County Clare, in western Ireland. Their music is deeply rooted in the East Clare regional style of Irish traditional music, with their trademark steady rhythm and swing. Mary’s concertina playing is highly respected nationally and internationally, and she is one of the most sought-after teachers of Irish music today. Mary has recorded three solo albums and two duet albums, the most recent being “The Lady’s Cup of Tea” which is a duet album with Sorcha. Sorcha has just released her solo fiddle album, “The Primrose Lass,” which follows her recent success after being named TG4 Young Musician of the Year in 2021. The last few years have seen Sorcha become one of Ireland’s most in-demand fiddle players and teachers, playing at festivals worldwide, including New Zealand, Australia, and the USA. Mary and Sorcha have a deep musical understanding, producing a magical, rhythmic flow in their music.
