Mary Gauthier
Mary Gauthier’s deeply personal songwriting explores the intersections of the political, spiritual, and human, earning her acclaim for songs like “I Drink,” “Mercy Now,” and “Drag Queens in Limousines.” A Grammy-nominated artist for her 2018 album Rifles & Rosary Beads, Gauthier is known for her confessional storytelling, compassionate perspective, and unmistakable blend of folk, country, and Americana. Her new album, The Reckoning (Soundly, Sept. 25, 2026), strips the music down to voice, guitar, and harmonica, creating an intimate and urgent collection that confronts loss, injustice, faith, and hope. Co-written with artists including Aaron Lee Tasjan, Eliza Gilkyson, Lori McKenna, and Vince Gill, the album reflects Gauthier’s belief that true faith comes from lived experience and that imperfection, vulnerability, and resilience are what connect us.
