Mike Merenda and Ruth Ungar (of the Mammals) hail from the Hudson River Valley and are husband-and-wife duo who are singers, storytellers, poets, and parents. Their Americana music is honest, beautiful and raw bringing harmony driven fiddle and banjo tunes at festival and intimate venues. Over the past 20 years they have quietly composed a canon of original songs that has been described by reviews as some of the best songwriting of their generation. They have also been in a cohort of compelling collaborators who form a touring quintet on the fiddle, banjo, guitar, organ, bass, and drums- The Mammals. We originally saw them in 2011 at Pickathon and are excited to have them here for you to enjoy. Also though I am name dropping Ruthy is the daughter of legendary fiddler Jay Ungar
