Martyn Whittock "American Vikings"

Martyn Whittock has written numerous educational and history books, including titles on Viking and early medieval history. His latest book is American Vikings: How the Norse Sailed into the Lands and Imaginations of America (Pegasus, New York, 2023). This explores and evaluates the written and archaeological evidence for Norse journeys to, and settlement in, North America; and the way that this has contributed to the later history and culture of the USA.

A consultant for the British Broadcasting Corporation, the English Heritage Charity Organization and the UK National Trust, author for historical journals, news platforms, commentator, columnist and interviewee, Martyn Whittock is making big waves exploring the impact of history around the world. With over 50 books published, much of Whittock’s work has been dedicated to Viking and Anglo-Saxon history, deciphering fact from fiction, and it may surprise you how much this history has influenced your life today!
