Join us for Martini Mahjong Mondays at 55 Seventy, where Dallas' Mahjong community gathers to unwind, connect, and enjoy an elevated evening in one of the city's most beautiful private club settings. Whether you're discovering Mahjong for the first time, building confidence in your game, or ready for Open Play, there's a seat waiting for you.
What began as a summer favorite has become a bi-weekly tradition—a place to relax after work, share a glass of wine, enjoy delicious food, meet new friends, and gather around the Mahjong table.
🀄 OPEN PLAY
For experienced players who are comfortable playing independently.
Join fellow Mahjong enthusiasts for an evening of friendly competition, conversation, and community. Come sharpen your skills, meet new players, and enjoy one of Dallas' favorite Mahjong nights.
Prerequisite: Players should be comfortable playing without instructor assistance and familiar with the rules of American Mahjong.
🀄 GUIDED PLAY
Already learned the basics but still need a little guidance? This class is for you.
Guided Play is designed for players who have played at least two games and can identify the tiles, suits, dragons, winds, flowers, and understand the basic flow of play—but would benefit from coaching while they play.
Think of this as Mahjong 102—the bridge between learning and confidently joining Open Play.
Throughout the evening, you'll receive hands-on instruction and guidance with:
- Choosing and committing to a line on the NMJL card
- Understanding the Charleston and passing strategy
- Calling tiles and proper game etiquette
- Reading the table and recognizing opportunities
- Clarifying rules and common gameplay situations
- Developing strategy and confidence as the game unfolds
This is a relaxed, coach-led playing experience where questions are encouraged, instruction happens in real time, and you'll leave feeling more confident every time you sit down to play.
