MARNDA – THE NYOONGAR GATHERING

What if, by 2050, every Nyoongar family could share in the wealth being created on Nyoongar boodjar?
For more than 50,000 years, Nyoongar people built one of the world's longest-running and most sustainable systems of wealth, governance, trade, knowledge and stewardship of boodjar.
Our old people understood that true wealth was more than money. It was culture. It was family. It was country. It was knowledge. It was the responsibility to leave something better for the generations that followed.
Then everything changed.
Our land was taken.
Our families were divided.
Our language and culture were attacked.
Our economic systems were dismantled.
Today, the impacts are still being felt.
Too many of our people are caught in cycles of poverty, incarceration, poor health and disadvantage.
Too much of the wealth created on our boodjar leaves our communities.
Too often, we find ourselves divided when unity is needed most.
But this is not a story about what has been lost.
It is a conversation about what can be built.
For the first time in generations, we have an opportunity to shape our own future through our people, our culture, our businesses, our land estate and the foundations created through the South West Native Title Settlement.
The question is not whether change is possible.
The question is whether we are prepared to come together and create it.
MARNDA is an invitation to all Nyoongar people to learn about the Nyoongar2050 Vision - a bold roadmap for cultural strength, economic self-determination, environmental stewardship and intergenerational prosperity.
Every Nyoongar child grows up strong in culture and identity.
Nyoongar businesses thrive across every industry.
Wealth generated on Nyoongar boodjar creates opportunities for Nyoongar families.
Our young people become leaders, entrepreneurs and custodians of culture.
Our country is protected, restored and generating prosperity for future generations.
Nyoongar people are united around a shared vision for the future.
This gathering is not about politics.
It is not about organisations.
It is not about division.
It is about Nyoongar people coming together to explore what is possible.
A day to listen.
A day to learn.
A day to ask questions.
A day to share ideas.
A day to help shape the future of our nation.
No fighting.
No factions.
No blame.
Just one conversation about the future of our people.
Our ancestors fought for what we now hold.
What we do next is our responsibility.
Come and hear the vision.
Come and ask the hard questions.
Come and help shape Nyoongar2050.
For our old people.
For ourselves.
For our children and grandchildren.
And for Nyoongar boodjar.
Food provided by Gather Foods.
Supported by the Indigenous Business Council.
"This is the beginning of a conversation, not the end of one."
Limited seats available.
