Marking and Constructive Feedback
About this Event

Assessment marking and feedback are core activities for staff involved in student learning.

‘Marking and constructive feedback’ is a practical session delivered by the Department of Academic Development and Student Learning, which will support effective planning and engagement with marking and feedback. Delivered as part of the ‘How To’ Series, this session will mainly focus on the use of assessment criteria to inform marking and moderation, and the art of crafting constructive and developmental feedback.

The aims of the session are as follows:

By the end of this session, participants should be able to:

• Identify what, why and how assessment criteria can be used to inform marking, moderation and feedback.

• Identify feedback comment types that are perceived to be most and least helpful for student learning.

• Create a template for crafting student feedback.

• Reflect on own use of feedback and use this to inform practice through a series of ‘takeaways’.

* Open to GCU staff only*
