Get your own private office, hands-on mentorship, and 8 weeks to build a real product — timed for the Spring 2027 VC application cycle.
About this Event

Build your startup. In your own office. Starting Oct 5.

markdownstl is running an 8-week founder cohort designed to move your startup forward — whether you're validating a first idea or already have an MVP and traction — backed by a private office you can call your own for the full program.

This isn't a shared coworking desk or a Zoom room. Every founder in this cohort gets their own dedicated office, available daytime into the evening, where you'll meet mentors, talk to potential customers, and build like you're already running a real company — because you are.

What You Get
  • Your own private office for the full 8 weeks (daytime–evening access)
  • Hands-on mentorship paired to your specific startup, not shared across a crowd
  • A structured build sprint using modern AI-assisted development tools
  • A real demo day in front of an outside audience
  • Mock investor interviews to pressure-test your pitch before it matters
  • A pitch and application built specifically to compete for the Spring 2027 VC cycle

What's On the Table

This cohort is timed so you're application-ready for the same programs that write real checks:

  • Y Combinator — standard deal is $500K total ($125K for 7% equity, plus a $375K uncapped SAFE)
  • a16z Speedrun — up to $1M total (an initial $500K for 10% equity via SAFE, plus another $500K follow-on if you raise your next round within 18 months), plus $5M+ in cloud/AI credits

and many more!

To be clear: markdownstl doesn't guarantee acceptance or funding from YC, a16z, or anyone else — those decisions are theirs alone. What this cohort guarantees is that you leave with the product, traction, and pitch it actually takes to be competitive when you apply.

How It Works

Weeks 1–2: Sharpen the problem and scope the build — whether that's your first spec or your next milestone.

Weeks 3–4: Build sprint — ship or extend a real, usable product.

Weeks 5–6: Get in front of real users, instrument it, iterate on what the data tells you.

Weeks 7–8: Build your pitch, demo day, mock investor interviews.

You leave Nov 27 with a stronger product, real usage data, and a sharpened pitch — then have runway into February to polish before the next VC application cycle opens.

Who This Is For

Founders at any stage — from a validated idea to an existing MVP with early traction — who want to move fast, get direct feedback, and build in a space that feels like running an actual business, because it is.
