In 1999, a friend in the corporate event planning business, needed a “Jimmy Style” band for an event. This was a chance for Mark to put together the perfect party band. A Cajun/Zydeco rhythm section, reggae keyboardist, country guitarist, R&B sax man, a great percussionist and a steel drummer who actually studied with Coral Reefer Band Member, Robert Greenidge. This unbelievable combination is what makes Mark Wood and the Parrot Head Band the next best thing to “Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band.”

In 2024 Mark Wood and the Parrot Head Band will continue to celebrate the life and music of Jimmy Buffett.

On behalf of the band, I would like to invite you all to come and see our Mark Wood and the Parrot Head Band Show and help us celebrate the amazing life and legacy of one of the consummate singer/songwriters of our lifetime! I have been playing Jimmy Buffett’s music since 1976 and the band has been playing together since 1999. We have opened for Jimmy at Verizon Amphitheater, played with Coral Reefer Band members and they have played with us. I can guarantee that you will have a great time. It’s a wonderful way to begin to come to grips with Jimmy's passing; all of us together, singing and reliving Jimmy’s stories. What I have come to realize is that even though Jimmy's not here with us in body, his spirit lives on in the legacy of his stories, his songs and in each and every one of us who have loved, lived and experienced them in our own personal way!

RIP Jimmy and thanks for simply being you. We’ll see you all very soon!
