Mark Johnson & Emory Lester at Vero Beach Heritage Center
Banjo innovator Mark Johnson is the creator of the groundbreaking "Clawgrass" style, a unique blend of traditional clawhammer and bluegrass banjo that has redefined the instrument's possibilities. In 2012, he received the prestigious Steve Martin Prize for Excellence in Banjo and Bluegrass, recognizing his lasting contributions to the genre.
Joining him is master mandolinist Emory Lester, widely regarded as one of today's premier acoustic musicians. Together, the duo has released several critically acclaimed recordings, including Acoustic Rising, which received an International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) Instrumental Album of the Year nomination. Their performances showcase breathtaking instrumental precision, inventive arrangements, and the unmistakable chemistry that comes from more than two decades of making music together. They have toured extensively across the United States and have even appeared alongside Steve Martin on Late Show with David Letterman.
Whether you're a dedicated bluegrass enthusiast or simply appreciate world-class acoustic music, this is a performance you won't want to miss.
