Marjory Stoneman Douglas School Shooting (Parkland, FL.)

2 days of education. Register for 1 or both.

Day 1 will be a full day of review of the response to and aftermath from the 2018 Marjory Stoneman Douglas school shooting. Fire and Law Enforcement members of the response team will be onsite to deliver to the audience their perspectives gained during mitigation of the incident, shaped with several years of reflection. They will provide an in depth review of how the incident unfolded including lessons that attendees can take back and apply to future incidents within their own agency. Lunch will be provided courtesy of TriHealth. There will also be an opportunity for audience members to ask the presenters questions. Lunch provided by Bethesda North Hospital

Day 2 will be a half day focused on behavioral health. Content will be delivered by professionals that have been directly involved in the management of the behavioral health component of the recovery from the MSD school shooting. Topics discussed will include how to build a comprehensive program, Pre and Post incident considerations, CISM, Peer support, Clinicians/Chaplains, Mental health facilities, Re-Integration, and Employee benefits.
