Nashvillská písničkářka Marissa Nadler se po devíti letech vrací do MeetFactory, kde představí své desáté studiové album New Radiations ★
V tvorbě Marissy Nadler se od debutu Ballads of Living and Dying z roku 2004 protínají vlivy éterického folku, gotické americany, mlhavého ambientu a čarovného noir rocku. Smíchovskou továrnu poprvé navštívila v roce 2016 s deskou Strangers, letos na podzim se vrací v rámci turné k jubilejnímu desátému albu New Radiations. To vychází v polovině srpna u newyorského labelu Sacred Bones a na jeho vzniku se po boku Nadler podílel mimojiné studiový inženýr Randall Dunn, dlouhodobý spolupracovník kapel Earth či Sunn O))).
Marissa Nadler na svém novém albu na pozadí atmosférických syntezátorových ploch a podmanivých kytarových riffů opojným vokálem vypráví jedenáct tajuplných lyrických příběhů.
„Baví mě zkreslovat a překrucovat děj, podvracet zažité motivy a hrát si s perspektivou ve svých vlastních písních. Vypravěčka titulního singlu se cítí uvězněná ve světě okolo sebe po několika velmi náročných a vyčerpávajících letech. Kosmická temnota se vkrádá do její psychiky – ale ona nakonec prostoupí šero vstříc nadějným novým začátkům.“

Nashville singer-songwriter Marissa Nadler returns to MeetFactory after nine years to present her tenth studio album, New Radiations ★
For over two decades, Marissa Nadler has carved out a singular place in the musical landscape, where ethereal folk, shadowy Americana, ambient soundscapes, shoegaze and experimental textures converge. Anchored by her unmistakable mezzo-soprano and intricate fingerstyle guitar, Nadler’s music conjures vivid emotional worlds—intimate, otherworldly, and timeless.
She first visited MeetFactory back in 2016 with her album Strangers, and this coming fall, she returns as part of the tour for her tenth studio record, New Radiations. The self-produced LP is set to be release in mid-August on the New York label Sacred Bones, and its creation involved, among others, studio engineer Randall Dunn, a longtime collaborator of Earth and Sunn O))).
Over dreamlike, lonesome soundscapes—fuzzed‑out distortion, Hammond organ, and ominous synthesizers—Nadler tells stories filled with mystery. “I enjoy twisting narratives, subverting tropes, and playing with perspective in my songs. [...] My narrator (whether these are first person songs or not really depends on how you want to listen to them) is feeling stuck, depressed, and frozen in a world after a tough few years for the world. The cosmic darkness we live in creeps into the psyche—but the character reaches clarity. As the songs unfold, the screen shatters, the ice breaks, and a new world begins.”
