Mario Canon is a multifaceted rapper, actor, and now, the frontman of his live rock band project he calls Wasteland. Known for his role on FOX’s show Empire, Mario has built a loyal fanbase across the U.S., amassing over half a million Instagram followers and millions of Spotify and iTunes listeners. With Wasteland, he’s stepping outside the confines of hip-hop, collaborating with a supergroup of professional musicians from bands like Steady Flow and Art of ILL Fusion. This project is his way of expanding his creative range, showcasing his versatility beyond rapping, and fully immersing himself in the rock genre.
As an independent artist, Mario rose to the top of the hip-hop scene, maintaining full control over his music and brands. His collaborations with heavyweights such as NLE Choppa, Twista, Bizzy Bone, The Game, and Montana of 300 and more, have solidified his position in the industry. He was the youngest artist featured on the Legends of Hip Hop Tour, sharing the stage with icons like Too Short, Bun B, Scarface, 8 Ball & MJG, and Mystikal. His performance at Usher and Ludacris's Lovers n Friends Fest in Las Vegas further cemented his status within the industry.
But now, it’s all about rock ‘n’ roll. Wasteland represents Mario’s true passion project, giving him the chance to explore new sounds and express himself in fresh ways, with a full-band experience, with musicians that bring his music to life on stage like never before.
