About this Event
Marino Camino 2026
Join us at St Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, Marino for the Marino Camino 2026! It’s happening on Good Friday April 3, 2026 at 4:00 PM (Irish Standard Time). Whether you’re a regular or just curious, it’s a chance to connect with Good Friday through a fusion of walking, music, reflection and community.
Each person engages with the Marino Camino in their own way. For some it is rooted firmly in Good Friday as a sacred day remembering Jesus' suffering. For others it offers a chance for pause and reflection in the beautiful sacred spaces in our parish.
Whatever the reason....... all are welcome.
Let's walk together!
4:15 p.m. Meet at St Vincent de Paul parish church, Marino. Walkers are given a stone to carry for the journey. They also receive a pilgrim passport and information about the Camino. The Camino group then walks to Marino Institute of Education.
4.30 p.m. The Camino arrives at the chapel of the Sacred Heart in Marino Institute of Education. The group will be formally welcomed at this point and there will be music and reflection. Before leaving, the first piece of a cross which will be assembled at the end of the Camino is collected from MIE. As the group departs from MIE, those who wish to, may have their Camino passports stamped.
5.00 p.m. The group walks down Griffith Ave and Grace Park Road, through DCU All Hallows Campus and into the next stopping point of St John the Baptist, Church of Ireland, Drumcondra. Here, Rev Garth Bunting will offer a reflection. Before leaving, the next piece of a cross which will be assembled at the end of the Camino is collected from Drumcondra parish. As the group departs, those who wish to, may have their Camino passports stamped. Passports will once again be stamped.
5.20 p.m. The group re-enters DCU All Hallows Campus to enter the chapel where a group from Marino parish, led by Bernadette and Paul Hennessy will lead Taizé music. Before leaving, the final piece of a cross which will be assembled at the end of the Camino is collected. As the group departs from All Hallows, those who wish to, may have their Camino passports stamped.
5.40 p.m. The group returns to St Vincent de Paul parish church where the pieces of the gathered cross are assembled and placed on the sancutary. Pilgrims place their stones at the foot of the cross. A final reflection takes place.
St Vincent de Paul Parish is grateful to our generous hosts, Marino Institute of Education, Griffith Ave; St John the Baptist church, Drumcondra; Dublin City University, All Hallows Campus.
