Marine For Life Networking Event - focused on IT / Cyber and PMP

Continuing on with our monthly Marine for Life Military/Veteran Networking Events, this month's is at Sunset Grill and Beach Bar in Ruskin, another relaxing outdoor venue on the water. This month's event is focused on PMP and Cyber/IT. Your co-sponsors are Chris Teodoro from Project Management Institute - Tampa Chapter and Wilson Bautista from Cyber Ohana Project. Cyber Ohana Project

We are amid the 2020 Global COVID-19 Pandemic, which has fueled an increase in cybercrime, in part, due to remote work and lack of security of work-from-home (WFH) devices. Every year, approximately 200,000 men and women leave U.S. military service and return to life as civilians, a process known as the military to civilian transition. Veteran unemployment up to nearly 12 percent amid coronavirus crisis. With cybercrime on the rise and vulnerabilities constantly being exposed, it is imperative that organizations take a proactive stance to protecting assets and employing skilled cybersecurity professionals.

There are many options currently available for free cyber security training for veterans. So why is Cyber Ohana Project different? Our unique Ohana approach offers much more than just free training; we offer a comprehensive one-stop resource for people who desperately need it, especially in these times of uncertainty and addresses the following business and social issues:

1)Support Vets: Many veterans struggle with transition back to civilian life. Wounded Veteran Relief Fund

Wounded Veterans Relief Fund provides immediate temporary emergency financial assistance to disabled veterans who have served in the wars and conflicts since 9/11. The program supports eligible service members and their families while maintaining their privacy. The organization works with Florida Veteran Administration (VA) facilities to screen and refer veterans. Financial support is provided for basic needs, including food, gas, mortgage, rent and utility payments, auto payments and repairs, transportation, wheelchair lifts, moving expenses, temporary or transitional housing and more.

Ease the burdens of financial distress for post-9/11 Florida disabled veterans and their families, helping them transition back home in a productive, meaningful way.

Our Services:

Wounded Veterans Relief Fund supports veterans in the Sunshine State who served post-9/11 in Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF), Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) and Operation New Dawn (OND), as well as their spouses and families. Our network of referring Veterans Administration locations now serves a tri-state area that includes all of Florida. As our network grows, we are able to provide more veterans with the immediate, focused assistance they deserve.Ease the burdens of financial distress for post-9/11 Florida disabled veterans and their families, helping them transition back home in a productive, meaningful way.
