Ocean Acidification Homeschool Field Trip

Cost: $25 per person, plus tax
Join us at the Marine Discovery Center for a hands-on, feet-wet exploration of the Indian River Lagoon! Participants will travel aboard the center’s pontoon boat while learning about dolphins, manatees, birds, and other wildlife that live within the lagoon. The group will also disembark on a remote island for further exploration.
The December program will focus on ocean acidification. Students will investigate what it means for the ocean to become more acidic, how this change occurs, how it affects marine ecosystems, and what people can do to be part of the solution.
This program is open to students in grades K–12. Each student must attend with a parent or other responsible adult. Both students and adults must register and pay the $25 per-person fee, plus tax.
Families will register and pay the Marine Discovery Center directly. This is not a group-payment or drop-off field trip. Parents should meet the Sunshine State Homeschoolers group at the Marine Discovery Center before the program begins.
