Marinara Music Kitchen: A Community Hoot ’n Scoot is a Sunday afternoon benefit concert bringing together songwriters from around around the U.S. for a joyful, collaborative celebration of music rooted in Louisiana and beyond.

The event will feature a rotating cast of touring and local songwriters—including Sam Doores, Anna La Mare, Hunter Burgamy, Max Sanders, and many more—performing fun, familiar covers inspired by Louisiana’s deep musical traditions, alongside a few surprises pulled from farther afield. Performances will be backed by a house band of killer local New Orleans musicians including Chris Robert, Jake Gartenstein, and Mitch Frank. Expect collaboration, good humor, and the kind of musical cross-pollination New Orleans does best.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Brett Thomas Doussan Foundation, a New Orleans–based nonprofit focused on supporting musicians’ mental health, well-being, and creative sustainability. Honoring the life and spirit of Brett Thomas Doussan, the foundation works to provide resources, advocacy, and a sense of community for artists who help sustain New Orleans’ vibrant musical ecosystem.

The Hoot ’n Scoot runs from 2–5 PM on Sunday, January 25, at BJ’s Lounge in the Bywater, a longtime neighborhood staple known for supporting live music and community gatherings.

Admission is $10 at the door, with a $20 suggested donation to further support the Brett

Thomas Doussan Foundation’s programs.
