Pianist Marina Albero started playing music on stages as a child with her family while they toured all around the world performing Iberian traditional and early music. In her early years she studied in Barcelona’s Conservatory (El Bruc) and later in La Havana (ISA), where she finished her classical piano degree with the great professor and pianist Mrs. Teresa Junco.
Since moving to Seattle in 2014, Marina has been piano chair at Teatro Zinzanni, and has been invited to present her music at the Ballard Jazz Festival, Earshot Jazz Festival and KNKX live studios and Jazz Northwest. The Marina Albero Project (since 2016) features some of the finest musicians like Hans Teuber, Evan Flory-Barnes, D’Vonne Lewis, Jeff Busch, Jeff Johnson, Ganesh Rajagopalan, among others. In 2018, she was awarded with the Golden Ear Award for Emergent Artist and in 2019 she was the recipient of two Golden Ear Awards: best instrumentalist and best record of the year (self release: “A life Soundtrack”).
On March 8th 2020, she starts the emergency musical project “The Quarantine Sessions” as a response to all the cancelations due to the COVID19 outbreak. It is drawing lots of interest from the press and participation from the online musical community. TQS has been awarded "Community in Action" Golden Ear by Earshot Jazz in April 2021.
Albero was the resident artist of the 2021 Earshot Jazz Festival where she sold out all of the four different concerts she premiered. In spring 2022 she was awarded with two Golden Ear awards, "PNW Concert of the Year" (Marina Albero featuring Ganesh Rajagopalan) and Acoustic ensemble of the year" (Marina Albero Trio).
This last spring 2023 she was again voted and awarded as "PNW Instrumentalist of the year" as well as "PNW Concert of the year" for "Don't Explain" with Jacqueline Tabor.
In 2024, Albero spent four moths in New Orleans in a self made musical residency to write, arrange and record her latest album "A Nomad of Sound".

Giulio Xavier Cetto is an acoustic and electric bassist currently living in San Francisco, California. Raised in a musical family, he has played music all of his life. Giulio performs nationally and internationally. He teaches master classes and private lessons and for the past 4 years has been faculty at the Stanford Jazz Workshop.
Giulio has performed with Grammy award winning artists such as Lawrence Hobgood, Johnathan Hoard, Fantastic Negrito and Thomas Pridgen. Giulio’s recordings include several albums with artists such as Aaron Janik, Javier Santiago, Justin Rock, Omree Gal-Oz, Arlyn Anderson, Spellling, and Kev Choice.
He has also shared the stage with Dayna Stephens, Theo Croker, Eric Lewis, Johnny O’Neal, Kassa Overall, Yosvany Terry, Eric Harland, Ben Wendel, Eric Reed, The Le Boeuf Brothers, Steve Turre, Carl Allen, Vincent Herring, James Carter, Matt Clark, Roy McCurdy, Matt Wilson, Joe Gilman, Stacy Dillard, Eric Wyatt, Akira Tana, Faye Carol, Ernie Watts, Warren Wolf, and Joel Ross.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Michael Mitchell has been behind the drums since the age of 8.
Michael soon began studying with NYC session-drummers Mike Mechem and Geoff Clapp, and started playing professionally at the age of 13, in and around the New York City area. Those relationships provided opportunities to study with Greg Hutchinson, Damion Reid, and Rodney Green, and after graduating from Edward R. Murrow High School in Brooklyn, Michael went on to Manhattan School of Music, where he studied with Justin Dicioccio, and earned a Bachelors Degree in Drumset Performance.
Michael teaches at the Stanford Jazz Workshop during the summer as well as coaching in SJW’s Giant Steps program, a middle school big band initiative that runs during the school year.
