About this Event

Marin Oratorio
Dr. Laura Wiebe, director

Lux perpetua: music of consolation

Ralph Vaughan Williams: An Oxford Elegy and Serenade to Music

Gabriel Fauré: Requiem in D Minor, Op. 48

Marin Oratorio presents a concert of three powerfully communicative choral-orchestral works, on the theme of consolation. The concert opens with a rare performance of An Oxford Elegy by Ralph Vaughan Williams, featuring Marin County actor and voiceover artist Joe Paulino as narrator. Vaughan Williams’s sonorous Serenade to Music, featuring multiple soloists, follows. Finally, the chorus, orchestra, and soloists will perform Gabriel Fauré’s timeless Requiem, in memory of this year’s centenary of the composer’s death.
