This holiday season, Marin Oratorio will perform a diverse program of two rarely-performed, seasonal major works. The chorus will present The Ballad of the Brown King, a cantata by black American Margaret Bonds on a text by Langston Hughes; and Navidad Nuestra, a nativity "folk drama" by Argentinian composer Ariel Ramirez. Both works feature soloists and instrumental ensembles. The chorus will also present a set of shorter choral works, including a moving arrangement of the gospel song The Storm is Passing Over.
