With 150+ participants since its inception in 2019, the biggest percussion event of the southern hemisphere returns for 2024 - the FIFTH edition of Marimbafest, a world-class marimba and percussion ensemble competition and festival like no other.
This year, participants from all over the world, including Australia, Belgium, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Mexico, Singapore, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand and the United States come together with our 2024 Faculty Artists from all over the world also, to celebrate our instruments in a week of competition, masterclasses and concerts.
Marimbafest 2024 is a hybrid event. You can participate either in-person here at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (Perth/Boorloo, Western Australia) or online from ANYWHERE in the world, and we also have FULL and CASUAL (no competition) options to suit any schedule and participation style. 🔴 THE 5TH SOLO AND ENSEMBLE COMPETITION
Solo marimba competition and percussion ensemble competition in one week with valuable written feedback given on ALL semifinals + finals performances as well as prizes available. With the new B CLASS category for beginner players 15 years of age or under + our popular OPEN CLASS (advanced - all ages), A CLASS (intermediate - 18 or under) and ENSEMBLE (2-10 players, all ages), we have something for everyone to try!
🔴 PARTICIPATE HOW YOU LIKE - IN-PERSON OR ONLINE, FULL OR CASUAL
For those who want the full Marimbafest experience, our FULL tickets (ISP/OSP/IEP/OEP) give you full access to all Marimbafest activities and the competition. For those who would prefer not to compete and have a more relaxed week, we have CASUAL tickets (In-Person Casual, Online Casual) which don't include participation in the competition, but include everything else. There's something for everyone - and don't forget you can also participate either IN-PERSON or ONLINE from anywhere in the world, and EVERYTHING is recorded in case you can't make it to live times.
