Marigolds and Memories: A Dia de Los Muertos Celebration

Dia de Los Muertos or “Day of the Dead” is a day in Hispanic culture that is used to honor and commemorate the lives of the dearly departed and to welcome the return of their spirits. This event will include a showing of the 2017 Disney film Coco. Coco tells us why Day of the Dead is important and how we can remember our lost loved ones. At the event, you can also enjoy traditional Mexicana pastries from Mammitas Coffee. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from UIowa LULAC volunteers. LULAC volunteers will bring display boards about Hispanic culture and Day of the Dead festivities.
