Le Goethe-Institut consacre un projet en ligne aux multiples facettes au concept d'arrêt/d’immobilité (Stillstand), où cet état très particulier et sa subtile poésie sont explorés dans de nombreuses contributions d'artistes et d'auteurs internationaux.

Deux femmes en Allemagne, deux sœurs, toutes deux nées pendant la guerre et ayant grandi pendant les "temps de plomb" des années 50. Marianne et Juliane se battent pour le changement social dans les années 60, mais leurs moyens sont totalement différents.
Alors que Juliane fait son chemin en tant que journaliste engagée, Marianne rejoint la clandestinité politique. Après l'arrestation et la mise en prison de Marianne, Juliane reste son seul lien avec le monde extérieur. Pendant des vacances en Italie, Juliane apprend la mort soudaine de Marianne. La cause "officielle" du décès : le suicide. Cependant, Juliane est convaincue que sa sœur ne s'est pas suicidée. Risquant de perdre sa sécurité matérielle et sa relation avec son petit ami, Juliane se jette dans l'isolement pour découvrir les véritables circonstances de la mort de sa sœur′.

Two women in Germany, two sisters, both were born during the war and grew up during the "leaden times" of the 1950s. Marianne and Juliane fight for social change during the 60s, however their means are totally different.
While Juliane makes her way as a committed journalist, Marianne joins the political underground. After Marianne is arrested and put into jail, Juliane remains her only connection to the outside world. During a holiday in Italy, Juliane learns of Marianne′s sudden death. The "official" cause of death: suicide. However, Juliane is convinced that her sister did not K*ll herself. Risking losing her material security and her relationship to her boyfriend, Juliane throws herself into isolation to uncover the true circumstances of her sister′s death. - filmportal.de
