'This body of work is an attempt to rediscover photographs of a specific social body, my large and extended family. Photographs can die. This happens when nobody takes the time to look at these captured memories; the people or places depicted are gone or altered beyond recognition. Quoting André Bazin: My aim, with the re-working, stitching, and altering of some chosen snapshots, is to preserve these images from a second spiritual death'.
These delicate, sensitive creations which the artist regards as letters to her mother are a joy to behold.
